Understanding how societal labels and group membership influence behaviour and perceptions, police training can be more effectively designed to mitigate these biases and foster fairer treatment across communities. Incorporating these theoretical perspectives into diversity and bias training could help officers recognize their own biases and improve their interactions with out-group members.
